Song of the siren (2018)

Object made of steel

Group exhibition "The Insider Outside" in "Rupert", Vilnius

.

The work originates from the interpretation of the myth of the Sirens’ song. When heard in distance the song attracts sailors to reach the source of the sound. Unfortunately, the sailors get lost and they die smashing in the rocks. The sculpture expresses this myth visually as a mirage: in the distance it looks as a drawing, while up close the three-dimensional movement of the lines distort the image.
