A site-specific work created during symposium „Stone dialogues 2“ in Pakruojis, Petrasiunai Dolomite quarry.

There is an exceptional architectural object located within a manor on the outskirts of Pakruojis town. The five arched dolomite bridge, built by Wilhelm von Roppe as early as 1821, connects the banks of Kruoja river.

A dolomite quarry nearby is preparing for environmental regeneration after exploitation of resources. There will be artificial ponds, islands, natural vegetation and so on. Where there is dolomite, there is water.

To create this sculpture, I borrowed the reflection of an arch of the bridge in the water. It reminded me of an inflatable boat. During symposium I created sculpture of an inflatable boat embedded in a piece of dolomite as a fossil. It is a vector between the past and future landscape of Pakruojis in relation to their regional resource - dolomite.
